The Weaver

“Guatemala is known for its handcrafts especially in the art of weaving. As with the original Mayans, many women in Guatemala still weave traditional attire, scarves, bags, and more. I spent a month in the Spanish colonial town of Antigua and I would see all these colorful textiles being worn and sold on the cobble streets of town. This art has survived thousands of years thanks to these weavers.”

Ladies of Zanzibar

“During the midday low tide in the island of Zanzibar, locals go out in groups to harvest seaweed and to pick up leftover seafood driven from the water. The brief low tide opens a window of opportunity for these local men and women. This was a daily attraction for me when I was visiting Tanzania.”
